5 Ways to Help Your Eldest Bond with Your Newborn

11 / 27 / 1711 / 18 / 17

eldest bond with newborn5 ways to help you eldest bond with your newborn.

Giving your eldest child a sibling is a great gift. Finally, another brother or sister to play with! When you were pregnant, you probably did all the right things with your eldest by letting them be in on the pregnancy. You gave them a plastic baby and toy pram of their own, while encouraging them to treat that baby gently and with immense amounts of love.

The Best Kids Present Ideas

11 / 24 / 1711 / 25 / 17

purpositThis great app, Purposit, allows you to list the best kids present ideas to help out those important people in your life.

When it finally sunk it that I had my second little girl on the way, I couldn’t contain my excitement. All those gorgeous clothes we had bought for Cassie could now be reused, and we basically already had everything we needed for our new arrival. Shoes, clothes, toys, you name it, we had it, which made things so much easier for us. But of course, being second child I didn’t want Vivi to get forgotten – she deserved to enjoy a first Christmas and first birthday with presents, just like Cassie did, but the thought of all that extra clutter taking over our lounge room sent shivers down my spine. I found myself questioning: “Maybe I could just rewrap one of Cassie’s old toys, Vivi wouldn’t know the difference, right?” And then I felt guilty for even thinking it. That’s when I came across the app, Purposit.

Life With Twins

11 / 23 / 1711 / 12 / 17

life-with-twinsOne mum shares what life with twins is like and how she manages to find some ‘me’ time in the chaos.

Josh Billings once said, “there are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared: twins”. And you know what? He was absolutely and undeniably right. Nothing could prepare me for what was to come. So many sleepless nights, babies crying for no apparent reason and me trying to be at several places at once. During the first year, I was so exhausted that I wanted to spend days in my bed hidden under a blanket. This is when I finally realised the importance of dedicating some time to yourself and taking care of your needs in order to be able to take care of your children. At first, balancing all the obligations was challenging – two children mean twice as effort. Eventually, everything fell into its place and I’m happy to say that I’m a proud and working mum of twin boys.

Love To Dream – Maintaining Routine Through Every Season

11 / 22 / 1712 / 1 / 17

love-2-dreamLove To Dream – maintaining routine through every season.

About eight years ago I got invited to my first baby shower and I had absolutely no idea what one should take as a present. I wandered into a baby shop near my work in my lunch hour, and instead of asking for help, I aimlessly walked around. I came across the LOVE TO DREAM SWADDLE UP™ Original Swaddle Up range – and the picture on the packaging had me suckered in. This baby with its arms in the air looked adorable! My friend, post baby quickly gave me the feedback that it was the best present she received and that she had made her husband run out and buy more of them before they had even left the hospital. I should at that point have worked out that I needed shares in this company as every time I gifted one, I received the same feedback – so amazing, baby slept, so we went and bought more! I also loved nothing more than receiving photos of all the tiny babies in their little swaddles arms surrendered up in the air.

Bringing Home Second Child

11 / 20 / 1711 / 12 / 17

second-childIt’s no secret that things are going to be very different when bringing home second child into your lives.

Things had always been pretty manageable with one. We entered parenting with a two against one mentality when it came to dealing with Cassie, which meant if one of us needed a break, the other could take over. Add in another kid to the mix and suddenly the ratio dropped to one on one, and that was only when Chris happened to be home.

Miscarriage Awareness

11 / 16 / 1711 / 4 / 17

miscarriageRaising miscarriage awareness and how to help those who have experienced loss.

October to me is more than Halloween and warm spring days. It’s also pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. That makes October an emotional month for many families as we remember all the babies gone too soon.
