Baby Led Weaning Fears

6 / 29 / 176 / 18 / 17

baby-led-weaning-fearsRebecca shares her baby led weaning fears and how she went with her first baby.

My husband and I were always adamant that we were going to try baby led weaning (BLW). We decided this during my pregnancy, it was one of those parenting decisions we made before we really understood what it was like to be a parent.

Fluffy Pancakes

6 / 7 / 175 / 29 / 17

12323771 - delicious pancakes on wooden table with fruitsWant the best start to the weekend? Try out this delicious fluffy pancakes recipe.

What better way to start the weekend than with some delicious homemade pancakes. The great thing about this recipe is that you can get the kids involved with the mixing and cooking and step back while they have fun in the kitchen. This fabulous recipe also caters to everyone in the family – even the fussiest of them. Some may like lemon and sugar on top of their pancakes, perhaps they prefer the traditional maple syrup, or maybe they want to try a dash of honey or Nutella (mmm, chocolate). Everyone can choose their own toppings and go nuts. It is also a great opportunity to throw a little fruit into the mix – what’s better than some chopped up strawberries on top of a nice and fluffy pancake!

Turning A Smoothie Into A Meal

3 / 15 / 173 / 6 / 17

smoothie-ideas-for-kidsLearn how turning a smoothie into a meal can help when feeding your fussy, slim or teething toddler.

My son Reuben is 18 months old, and since birth he has been on the skinny side. I have never been particularly worried about this, as my husband is very slim and has a petite frame, however I would get concerned when he would go through a fussy phase, or a phase of not eating, or when his teeth hurt and he didn’t want to eat anything, as he didn’t really have any excess weight to lose if he got sick or something serious happened.

Broccoli Tots

1 / 10 / 171 / 6 / 17

Broccoli totAfter a healthy snack that the whole family will enjoy? These delicious broccoli tots are the perfect treat.

I love finding foods that Cassie can enjoy on the go, especially now that the weather is warming up. It means we can get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors without worrying about finding foods that are easy to pack to bring along with us. These broccoli tots are great cold or warmed up and can also be frozen for a quick meal when you are in a rush. You can also play around with the ingredients, adding capsicum, tomato, ham, mushrooms and much more. Just chop them up and throw them in. This batch was gone in just one day (my husband and I may have helped) and I had to make more!

Do Toddlers Need To Snack?

11 / 30 / 1611 / 27 / 16

organixCassie loves her food and she eats so much at breakfast, lunch and dinner that I have begun to wonder lately: do toddlers need to snack?

According to dieticians, toddlers’ tummies aren’t big enough to take on board enough energy and nutrients from just three meals a day, so little ones need two to three snacks in-between, to boost energy, fuel their explorations, and for healthy growth and development.
