Why I Stopped Writing Birth Plans

8 / 17 / 178 / 4 / 17

birth planOne mum shares why she stopped writing birth plans and just went with the flow.

When our obstetrician or midwife suggests we develop a birth plan, it’s not exactly like we’re planning for world domination. However, it is not far off considering the overall task is not for the weak. It is indeed a mammoth feat. A Relaxed Birth

8 / 15 / 178 / 4 / 17

Birth storyOne mum shares how we can trust our bodies to offer a relaxed birth experience.

I had already previously given birth to two children. My daughter, six, was a natural birth that took six hours, and my son, four, took 90 minutes. I was getting the hang of this thing. The Importance of Midwives

6 / 20 / 176 / 9 / 17

Importance-of-midwivesIt wasn’t until I welcomed my little baby girl that I realised the true importance of midwives and the work they do.

It wasn’t something I really considered throughout my pregnancy. Sure, we had put a little thought into raising the baby after birth, but most of my focus when to the little one growing in my stomach and what I could do to ensure she arrived safely. Did I want to breastfeed? Sure. Would I go to a mothers’ group? Why not! Did I know how to wrap a baby, sleep a baby or even care for a baby? Well… all that would come, wouldn’t it? At least that’s how I thought during pregnancy.

5 Tips For Mums Of Premmies

3 / 22 / 173 / 12 / 17

premmies-babiesAfter going through two premature births, mum-of-two Kirsty shares her experience and how it led to her Premmie milestone Cards business. Read her 5 tips for mums of premmies.

As mum to two girls who were both born prematurely – Poppy (5) and Essie (2) – I don’t think anything can ever prepare you for having a premmie. You always imagine you will be sitting at home when your waters break, as your partner panics before rushing you to hospital for your natural birth. Not one part of this was realistic for me!
