Announcing Pregnancy Early

4 / 5 / 174 / 3 / 17

announcing-pregnancy-earlyHow do you feel about announcing pregnancy early?

“Good luck”

Hearing those words made me cringe on the inside as she squeezed my shoulder and walked off. She had just found out I was 8 weeks pregnant – far too early to be telling people as I had previously been told. Rather than the usual congratulations you get for this exciting news, I was left with the uttering, “Good luck”.

Multiple Miscarriages

3 / 28 / 173 / 17 / 17

pregnant womanEmma writes about the pain of multiple miscarriages and how they affected her rainbow pregnancy.

When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, we were completely shocked and equally as thrilled. We were excited about this new journey and couldn’t believe we would be so blessed. We told close friends and our immediate family, but wanted to keep it to ourselves until 12 weeks. Everything seemed to go smoothly, a little bit of spotting here and there freaked me out, but it all seemed to be fine.

Overcoming Pregnancy Loss

3 / 20 / 173 / 7 / 17

sisters in fairy wingsBeth shares her story of overcoming pregnancy loss to get the family she always wanted.

It was my second pregnancy, or I should say third – I had a chemical pregnancy a year or so prior. I already had a beautiful one-year-old daughter. My husband and I were excited, but also nervous about having two so close together.

Our Rainbow Baby

2 / 28 / 172 / 20 / 17

Rainbow babyAfter suffering a miscarriage, Jenna Jabbour shares the road to getting her rainbow baby.

I was told to wait three cycles before trying for another baby. We hadn’t planned to get pregnant the first time, but we were excited to start a family.

On Friday 1st May 2015 I took a sneaky pregnancy test before jumping in the shower while the test developed. I got out of the shower to a very faint second line. All the emotions from the first pregnancy came flooding back. I was excited, but nervous. This time the nerves were for a different reason. I was scared. If I lost one baby, it could happen again, and I’d be completely devastated. I decided to keep it to myself for as long as it took to work up the courage to tell John.

Miscarriage Stories

2 / 27 / 172 / 16 / 17

miscarriage storiesJenna Jabbour shares her experience of miscarriage and reflects on the baby she didn’t get to meet. Miscarriage stories are the hardest to share, but we need to get them out there.

Last month, we could have been celebrating our baby’s first birthday. We would have invited all our friends and family, and everyone would have gathered with gifts as we enjoyed watching the birthday babe crawl around on the grass outside, experiencing the world around them and putting smiles on everyone’s faces.

Moving Through Loss

8 / 30 / 168 / 17 / 16

moving-through-lossJo shares just how much her miscarriage affected her entire family. Here is her story of moving through loss.

My husband and I have been very blessed. We’ve been together since we were 21, and married at 26. Early on in our relationship we knew we wanted lots of children, and first wanted to adopt – so we did. By the time I was 31, we had adopted four children and our lives were full of joy, mess, noise, love and laughter.
