Tips For Buying Shoes For Kids

11 / 6 / 1711 / 5 / 17

shoes-for-kidsTips for buying shoes for kids.

My husband and I both have rather unique feet – I suffer from Eczema and no big toenails following an accident, my husband has hammer toes – I imagine from having a massive growth spurt at some point and not being in the correct shoes. I feel the only thing I can pass onto our son Reuben to hopefully counterbalance him getting the same issues, is to be in seasonally appropriate shoes so his feet can breathe to help with any skin issues, and to make sure he is regularly properly fitted for new shoes to ensure his foot and toe bones have plenty of space to grow and develop the way the should. Shoes and Sox are amazing -Reuben has really ticklish feet and was very anti getting fitted or not keeping the shoes he walked in on his feet, but the staff at Eastgardens store had it covered with balloons, bubbles, stickers and a dab hand at measuring on the fly!

How To Get Your Child To Listen

9 / 14 / 179 / 1 / 17

how-to-get-your-child-to-listenWant to know how to get your child to listen to you? Here are some great tips.

It really is the holy grail of parenting, the one thing I didn’t prepare myself enough for before Cassie came: how to get your child to listen to you. I am going to have a little brag moment right now – I was the best child ever. I’m not lying to you or even exaggerating – my mum has told me over and over. She said I would just sit on her lap in silence and watch the world whenever she took me out. People were always amazed and used to ask Mum what her secret was. So, naturally, I was fooled into thinking that my little girl would be just like this. Oh how I was mistaken.

Why Teaching Manners Is Important

8 / 8 / 177 / 25 / 17

teaching-mannersGwen Mackay shares why teaching manners is important today.

When you’re raising children, there is always so much to teach them to ensure they grow up to be functioning adults. There are the obvious things like toilet-training, walking and talking, but what about manners? We often remind our children to say please and thank you, but is that enough? Sure, we may have grown up with our own parents telling us to “sit up straight” or “shake hands”, but why is this so important to so many parents, including our own? In a day and age where manners may not seem like such an important aspect of growing up, there are a number of reasons why it should still be a top priority for raising your own children.

7 / 25 / 177 / 16 / 17

choosing-your-childcareRead this advice about choosing your childcare for your little one and what to look out for.

One of the most important decisions every parent needs to make when it comes to the wellbeing and development of their child is choosing the right childcare. Having your dearest spending time and socialising with other children while being supervised by a qualified and dedicated professional is probably every parent’s dream, but not all dreams turn into reality, as we all know so well.

How To Teach Kids About Tax

6 / 13 / 176 / 13 / 17

teaching-kids-about-taxIt’s a conversation that needs to start at home and with some simple guidance, is easier than ever. Here are some great pointers on how to teach kids about tax.

When it comes to maths, money, adding, subtracting or anything else number related – I am out. I have always sworn that I only got the writing side of my brain and missed out on some other important things, like how to add 2 + 2. Chris knew from day 1 of parenting that when it came to teaching Cassie about numbers, he was going to have to take over. Even the thought of primary school homework sends shivers down my spine.
