Peg Butterflies

5 / 19 / 175 / 3 / 17

peg-butterfliesIf you’re after a great activity that can be adapted to all ages, check out these great peg butterflies from Emma Herbert.

I came up with this great activity while having a good old Pinterest search for craft ideas for my seven year old and 16 month old. It ended up being a combination of a few different ideas I came across and the boys had so much fun crafting together.

DIY Night Light

2 / 17 / 172 / 7 / 17

DIY night lightWant to make your very own DIY night light? Mum-of-two (with third on the way) Emma Herbert shows us how it’s done.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only mum that has had these pop up in my news feed. Now that we are expecting our little girl, it was time to try it for myself. Please note, I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, so if I can do it, anyone can!

Valentine’s Day Craft

2 / 3 / 171 / 23 / 17

Valentine's-Day-CraftWhether you are a fan of the day or not, these Valentine’s Day craft ideas are sure to put a big smile on your face.

Love is in the air! There is something magical about Valentine’s Day, and for me, it isn’t the presents or the roses (we try not buy into that) – it’s the expressions of love. Of course, we don’t need a specific day of the year to let our loved ones know how much they are appreciated, but it sure does provided a good excuse to get crafty. Whether you are a big fan of Valentine’s Day, or thing it is a corporate sell out that steals your money, these craft ideas from Pinterest are sure to put a smile on your face (and some love in your heart).

3 Great Water Play Activities

1 / 27 / 171 / 19 / 17

water play activitiesSummer is here and the days are heating up, so here are 3 great water play activities to get the kids outdoors and having fun these holidays.

Ball Sorter:
This is a great idea from Two Daloo that is not only fun, but will teach your little ones so much in the process. Buy a big packet of plastic balls (you can get these from Kmart) and start filling up some tubs with water. Use a little food dye to change the colour of the water to match the balls. Get your little one to practise their fine motor skills, helping sort the balls into the right bucket. Have a little fun with them and mix it up, putting the wrong ball in the wrong bucket to ‘trick’ them.

Best Water Parks

1 / 9 / 171 / 2 / 17

water parks in your cityWarm weather means a chance to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine with your kids. Here is a list of some of the best water parks around Australia.

Cassie loves playing with water. We are very lucky. My mum has a pool and lives five minutes from us, so we can pop over and use it whenever suits us. We also have a nice balcony in our ground-floor unit where we set up a paddling pool over Summer, and the sand and water table is also next to it ready for some splashing fun. But nothing beats getting away to somewhere new and exciting to have a play. We have tested out a few of the water play areas around Sydney, and done some research on those in other states. If you have visited any of them, I would love to hear your thoughts!
